Food Recall Notices
January 9, 2013 - Milo’s Kitchen® today announced that it is voluntarily recalling its Chicken Jerky and Chicken Grillers home-style dog treats from retailer shelves nationally. No other Milo’s Kitchen® products are affected.
January 9, 2013- Nestle Purina PetCare Company and its wholly owned subsidiary Waggin' Train, LLC today announced it is voluntarily withdrawing its Waggin' Train and Canyon Creek Ranch brand dog treats sold in the United States until further notice.
January 25, 2013- The Hartz Mountain Corporation is voluntarily withdrawing its Hartz® Chicken ChewsTM and Hartz® Oinkies® Pig Skin Twists wrapped with Chicken for dogs in the united States because they contain trace amounts of unapproved antibiotic residue.
February 15, 2013- Nature"s Variety has announced a voluntary recall of one batch of Instinct® Raw Organic Chicken Formula with a "Best if Used By" date of 10/04/13. THis action is being taken due to pieces of clear plastic that may be found in some bags and could cause a potential choking risk to pets.
February 22, 2013- Hy-Vee issues a voluntary recall of certain bags of Hy-Vee dog food due to elevated levels of a chemical contaminant commonly found in corn. Routine random testing indicated higher-than-normal levels of aflatoxin in some samples of Hy-Vee dog food.
February 26, 2013- Mulitply products from Kasel Associated Industries of Denver,Co Manufactured from April 20, 2012 thru September 19, 2012 due to possible Salmonella contamination. Nutri-Vet and NutriPet Chicken Jerky products for possible Salmonella contamination. Honest Kitchen® is recalling 5 lots of it's Verve, Zeal, and Thrive pet food products produced between August and November 2012, due to possible Salmonella contamination. Kaytee Products is recalling several bird treats and green items due to possible contamination of Salmonella from parsley flakes.
March 7, 2013- Steve's Real Food of Murry, Utah is recalling it's 5lb bags of Turducken Canine Diet, - 8oz Patties due to potential contamination of Salmonella. They were distributed from October 2012 to January 2013 in retail stores.
March 10, 2013- Diamond Pet Food is voluntarily recalling limited production codes of Premium Edge Finicky Adult Cat Formula dry cat food, Premium Edge Senior Cat Hairball Management Formula dry cat food, Premium Edge Kitten Formula dry cat food, Diamond Naturals Kitten Formula dry cat food and 4health All Life Stages Cat Formula dry cat food. Test conducted by the company indicated the products might have a low level of thiamine(Vitamin B).
March 18, 2013- Natura Pet Products is voluntarily recalling specific lots of dry pet food because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The affected products are sold in bags through veterinary clinics, select pet specialty retailers, and online in the United States, Canada, and many other countries. The product expiration dates range from 12/17/2013 to 1/2/2014.
